In the city of York the streets are called gates, the gates are called bars, and the bars are called . . . pubs.
It’s a lovely medieval city to spend a week exploring. The Treasurer’s House is one of my favorites. The Minster is full of architectural treasures. The castle is a great example of motte and bailey. The city is full of history! I had a great B&B around the corner from the Minster - and near to dozens of pubs.
